Acceptance of Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Hasset mobile application (iOS and Android) and the website at hasset.io (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Hasset ("we", "us", or "our").

By downloading the app, creating an account, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Hasset. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Description of Service

Hasset is a household asset and maintenance management application. It helps you track home appliances, schedule maintenance tasks, store warranty information, record costs, manage contractor contacts, and organise household records.

The Service is provided on a subscription basis with a free tier and paid tiers (Pro and Landlord). Features available to you depend on your subscription tier at any given time.

Hasset provides organisational tools only. Nothing in the Service constitutes professional advice - legal, financial, engineering, or otherwise. Always consult a qualified professional before making decisions about repairs, replacements, or significant home investments.

Accounts and Registration

Creating an account

You must register with a valid email address and a password that meets our security requirements. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep it up to date.

Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, you must notify us immediately at support@hasset.io.

One account per person

Each account is for a single individual. You may not share your account credentials with others or allow any other person to use your account.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Account Settings -> Delete Account). Deletion is permanent. All your data will be removed from our systems within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.

Subscriptions and Billing

Prices vary by region. The price displayed at the point of purchase in the App Store or Google Play is the price you will be charged.

Billing and renewal

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Free trial

We may offer a free trial period for paid tiers from time to time. If a free trial is offered, the terms and duration will be clearly stated at the point of sign-up. Your payment method will be charged automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel beforehand.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will continue to have access to your paid tier features until that date. We do not provide refunds for unused time within a billing period, except where required by applicable law.

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refund requests are handled according to their respective refund policies. We are unable to issue refunds directly for App Store or Google Play purchases. If you have a billing dispute, please contact support@hasset.io and we will do our best to assist.

Price changes

We may change our subscription prices at any time. Where we increase prices for existing subscribers, we will give at least 30 days' advance notice by email or in-app notification. Continued use of a paid tier after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Downgrade behaviour:if you downgrade from a paid tier to Free, or cancel a paid subscription, your data is retained but access to features above your new tier's limits will be restricted. No data is deleted automatically on downgrade.

Free Tier Limitations

The Free tier is provided at no charge and allows you to use core Hasset features within the following limits:

  • Maximum 5 assets
  • 1 property ("My Home")
  • 10 AI label scans per month

We reserve the right to modify Free tier limits at any time. Where we reduce Free tier limits, we will give reasonable advance notice. Existing Free tier users will not have data deleted as a result of a limit reduction, but they may be required to upgrade to continue adding new items beyond the new limit.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Hasset only for its intended purpose of personal household asset management. You must not:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or any other user's account or data.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app.
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service in a way that places excessive load on our infrastructure.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, scan quotas, or other service restrictions.
  • Upload content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes the rights of any third party.
  • Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercialise access to the Service.
  • Use the Service to store or transmit malicious code of any kind.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.

Your Content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of all data, photos, documents, and other content you submit to Hasset ("Your Content"). We do not claim any intellectual property rights over Your Content.

Licence to operate the service

By uploading content to Hasset, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This licence ends when you delete the relevant content or close your account.

Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of Your Content. You must not upload content that infringes any third-party copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right, or that contains personal data of others without their consent.

Data export

You can export all your household data at any time as a CSV file from within the app (Account Settings -> Export My Data).

AI Label Scanning

Hasset offers an optional AI-powered feature that analyses photos of appliance labels to extract asset information. This feature is powered by Anthropic's Claude API.

Accuracy

AI extraction results are provided as a convenience and may not always be accurate. You should always verify extracted information (brand, model, serial number, category) before saving. We accept no liability for errors in AI-extracted data.

Monthly quotas

AI scans are subject to monthly limits per tier. Current limits are shown in your account settings within the app. Unused scans do not roll over to the following month. Quota counters reset on the first day of each calendar month.

Content you submit for scanning

You must only submit images of appliance or device labels that you own or have the right to photograph. Do not submit images containing sensitive personal information of other individuals.

The AI scan feature is entirely optional. All assets can be added manually without submitting any image to our AI processing pipeline.

Intellectual Property

The Hasset name, logo, app design, user interface, software, and all related materials are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or other brand elements.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service or its underlying software, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code, except where such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
  • Any information provided by the Service (including AI-extracted data or maintenance suggestions) is accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific situation.
  • The Service will meet your requirements or expectations.

Maintenance suggestions, health scores, and reminders generated by Hasset are based on general guidelines and are not a substitute for professional inspection, advice, or service. We are not responsible for any property damage, personal injury, financial loss, or other harm arising from reliance on information provided by the Service.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we and our directors, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or property damage, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under or related to these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) EUR 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain types of liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Important: nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law under the laws of the Republic of Lithuania or applicable EU consumer protection legislation.

Termination

By you

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account cancels any active subscription from the next billing cycle (refunds follow App Store / Google Play policies).

By us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately and without prior notice if:

  • You breach any provision of these Terms.
  • We are required to do so by law or a court order.
  • We reasonably believe your account has been compromised and suspension is necessary to protect other users.

We may also discontinue the Service in its entirety. In that event, we will give at least 30 days' advance notice and pro-rate any unused paid subscription time.

Effect of termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 7 (Your Content - ownership), 9 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Limitation of Liability), and 13 (Governing Law) survive termination.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you also benefit from any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of your country of residence that cannot be derogated from by contract.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Lithuania, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, applicable law, or our business practices. When we make material changes, we will notify you at least 14 days in advance by email or in-app notification before the new Terms take effect.

If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you may close your account before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
